Sentenced to Prism (1985) is a science fiction novel written by Alan Dean Foster.

Plot

The planet Prism is unique in the Humanx Commonwealth because its entire ecosystem is based on silicon instead of carbon. Evan Orgell, a fixer, finds himself fighting for his survival in this strange environment after his specialized spacesuit succumbs to the local elements. He must overcome not only the native life forms but also his own limitations and human treachery to secure his survival and rescue.
